Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy includes improving, developing, or restoring functions
impaired or lost through illness, injury, or deprivation. Improving the
ability to perform tasks for independent functioning and preventing further
impairment of skills are responsibilities of the OT. |
The primary function of occupational therapy is to directly assist the
student to benefit from instruction. Therapy is provided when a disability
adversely affects the educational performance. |
Services are delivered in a variety of ways including direct contact
and therapy with the student or teacher consultation on an individual
student's program needs or materials. |
