| Work Based Learning
What is that exactly? |
| Work Based Learning Class. This
instructional arrangement is for providing special education instruction to
students who are placed on a paid job with regularly scheduled supervision by special
education teachers. A student in part-time job training/employment must
work a minimum of 15 hours a week. A student in a full-time job placement
must work at least 30 hours a week. Students may participate in
other occupational preparation programs (which do not generate special ed funds)
including vocational education, coordinated vocational academic education (CVAE)
classes, and vocational education for the handicapped classes. |
| Occupational Prep What does that mean then? |
| The vocational assessment/training program
provides students with occupational preparation for employment
purposes.
Students are rotated through a variety of vocational sites with no
employer-employee relationship.
Occupational Prep is an extension of the classroom
educational program. The program is targeted at secondary students with
moderate and severe disabilities who may be eligible for supported employment
upon graduation. |
